Milwaukee, WI - On December 6th, 2009 Nest 725 held their annual Christmas and Awards "show". Indeed it was quite a show! With the theme: "Santa's Workshop" and the help of Chairperson Marian E. Hansen, Adult Chairperson Sandra Abendroth, and Youth Program Directors: George Wortz, Suzanne Zareczny and Shannon Borek, this was one entertaining and successful event.

The stage first was decorated by Suzanne Zareczny who put up a beautiful Christmas Tree full of lights and ornaments (with light untangling expertise provided by Webmaster Bill). The rest of the stage was decorated by Marian E. Hansen, with elf-like help from Webmaster Bill. This wonderfully incredible Christmas display (that had to be seen in person to be believed) provided the backdrop for the performances enjoyed by our hall full of anticipation and people!

Starlight the Clown performed a magic show for the children involving them in the performance to the delight of the crowd.

An "encore performance" from Polish Fest '09 was given by our youth whose skills and talents, from what they had learned in the fall class, were on display for all their parents, friends and family to see. A Nie Ziemi performance that brought some to tears. Two excellently choreographed routines by Assistant Instructress Suzanne Zareczny, with "youthful help": The Double Stunts and the Gloves & Hat Routine were some of the best performances of the year! The youth also displayed their physical skills with Tumbling and Mini Tram demonstrations. A playful performance of Zosha and the Cherry Tree showcased some of the additional stage talent of our youth. Our youth participants included: Nadia, Nidia, Cory, Cheyenne, Ida, Alexa, Anya, Alexis, Alessia, Jayden, Scout, Floyd, Gerod, Colin, Anthony, Andru, Ana, Faith and Amanda, Zaina, Domonique, Deanne, Breanne, Alyssa, Samantha, Jessa, Lisa, Katie and Tristan.

The adults and older youth with their elaborate and breathtakingly colorful costumes displayed just as much enthusiasm as the kids in performing their skit: Santa's Workshop (a collaborative effort by Marian E. Hansen and Sandra Abendroth). Many thanks to all the performers: Marian Hansen as "Ms. Silver Glitter"; Sandy Abendroth as "Mrs. Santa"; Katie Swoverland as "Miss Merry Weather - Meteorologist"; Megan Wortz as "Miss Snowflake - Housing & Nutritionist"; Loida Wood as "Miss North Pole - Chief Contractor; Audrey Fix as "Madame Giggles - School Superintendent"; Chris Borek as "Miss Mistletoe - North Pole Secretary"; Breanne Hassman as "Miss Icicle - North Pole Building Manager"; Amanda Gonzales as "Miss Bright Star - Deaconess"; Alyssa Bielicki as "Miss Stargazer - Assistant to Mrs. Claus"; Samantha Bielicki as "Miss Holly Berry - The Baker"; Michelle Wolniakowski as "Miss Snowbird - Stable Manager"; Suzanne Zareczny as "Miss Tooty Fruity - Recreational Organizer"; *Santa is not done with sisters. He also has a number of sister-in-laws (you know Mrs. Santa's sisters). We have Ms. Sweet Candy Cane, Ms. Jingle Bells. Poor Santa he is surrounded by women. Zaina Lauk as "Ms. Sweet Candy Cane - Santa's sister-in-law"; Deanne Hassman as "Ms. Jingle Bells - Santa's sister-in-law"; Jacob Fix as "Rudolph"; "Domonique Langston as "Mrs. Rudolph"; plus George Wortz and Tristan Augbus as "Santa's Elves"; Lisa & Jessa Wood as "M&M's" and we can't forget Steve Blicharz as "Santa Claus". Speaking of Steve Blicharz, we congratulate him on winning the Nest "Falcon of the Year" award!

Yes this was also the day of our awards presentation. We were honored to have as our guests and presenters: Patricia B. Del Busse, National First Vice President; Paul Sadowski, District II President and Joan Beilfuss, Legion of Honor Chairperson. Many awards were handed out including: Gold Legion of Honor: Debera Orzechowsk, Silver Legion of Honor: Jerry Fix; The Star of Merit Awards with the Gold going to Shannon Borek, Janessa Augbus and Chris Borek; The Silver to George Wortz and the Bronze to Steve Blicharz and Karen Urban. The prestigious Presidents Award was given to Audrey Fix for all her devoted years of dedicated service. Congratulations to all!

With nearly 40 performers between the youth and adults and approximately 117 people who participated in our Christmas party and awards program we are very grateful to one and all. Special thanks also go to Terry Jo Marker, the Kitchen Chairperson and her helpers Linda and Noah Krzywda. And last but not least yours truly: Webmaster Bill, soundman and photographer. We hope we didn't forget anyone, but please check us out in our photo gallery with over one hundred pictures of this event.

This was a highly successful event with an ever further increasing of awareness of the Polish Falcons in our Riverwest Neighborhood.

For those in the area next year you do not want to miss the Christmas 2010 we have planned. It is really best to see these incredible Christmas displays in person and up close. With the 2010 Theme being "Winter Wonderland", there are new unique Christmas decorations, new dance routines and skits that are already in the works. Featuring Topsey the Christmas Angel and Squeaky the Mouse with a host of Carolers, start planning early to be here!
