Male Vice-President / Nest Instructor

georgebio01

Hello,

My name is George J. Wortz, or "Mr. George". I am 28 years old and I am the Nest Instructor for Nest 725.

I have been a member of Polish Falcons since I was 9 years old. I started as a member of the physical fitness class and was part of that class until my late high school years.

About 5 years ago I became the Nest Instructor and 3 years ago became the District 2 Instructor. My main job now is the coaching, teaching and directing of our current physical fitness class. I just love my position with the Polish Falcons and the best part for me is working with the youth. Kids are Awesome!!!!!

I may be a little different than others in our organization because I am the only member of my family who is a part of Polish Falcons. I don't have any siblings and when I started as a kid, it was more like an after school activity.

Since then it has become a lot more!

It is a way for me to be a part of and learn more about my Polish heritage. Also, being a fraternal organization, it has become a second family for me. I have made a lot of really good friends in the Falcons.

George a little in the dark
I have been to countless Milwaukee and out of state competitions, performances, clinics, conventions, camps and meetings, as a child and as an adult. I am so very thankful for the opportunity to travel so much with this organization.

As the Male Vice-President, I have assisted in lots of event planning, fund-raising, committees, community doings, volunteering and chaperoning.

I love this great organization and will be a part of it for years to come!!!!!!!

Recording Secretary / Dance Coach

sandybio01

My name is Sandra Abendroth. I was born Sandra Bielicki on 7-8-54 in Milwaukee, WI approximately 5 miles from the Polish Falcons Nest 725. My parents Lavern and August Bielicki had 3 other children, 2 girls and 1 boy. One sister lives in Crystal Falls Michigan while my other sister lives in the neighborhood we were all raised in. My brother Bill has recently become Nest 725 Webmaster and a Board Director.

I'm Polish by descent as my mother was a Laskowski and father a Bielicki. I'm a high school graduate and started work as a Medical Assistant for an Orthopedic Surgeons office in 1972. I married in the late 1970's and became Sandra Fix and had two sons Kevin and Christopher who have been members of the Polish Falcons since birth. I was divorced and remarried in the late 1980's to become Sandra Abendroth and I'm now an Administrative Assistant II who has worked for the Medical College of Wisconsin for the past 21 years.

I joined the Polish Falcons of America in October 1980. Started dancing with the adult class and eventually taught the class which I continue to do today. I danced in the Zeszow Festival in Poland in 1983 and have been performing at Polish fest in Milwaukee, since the 1980's.

I've been a board director and have now been the Nest recording secretary for the past 9+ years. I've co-chaired the PFA National Dance Competition/Exhibition in Milwaukee in 1990, and throughout the years attended; parades in Chicago and Milwaukee, National and District Meets and Conventions, co-chaired the 75th and 100th Anniversary Banquets of Nest 725 and did all the ads for the Booklet and proclamation requests as well as participate in the program.

I also co-chaired the National Ethnic Workshop held in 2008. I'm part of the physical fitness team working with the kids and adults. In 2009 I attended the District II Convention of the Polish Falcons along with co-chairing a booth for a Local Street Festival as well as a neighborhood Art Walk display.

The accomplishments I've achieved with the help of the Polish Falcons of America in the past 29 years have been huge. I've made friends all over the country through meets, conventions, parties, luncheons, weddings and yes even funerals. Who wouldn't want to be a member of the Polish Falcons of America.

Treasurer / Assistant Instructress

suebio01Hi, my name is Suzanne Rae Zareczny. I was born and raised in Milwaukee, WI. I'm number 8 in a family of 10. My parents, Raymond and Geraldine Zareczny, met at the Polish Falcons. They married and had 10 of us children.

Most of my brothers and sisters grew up in the Falcons. My father was President of Polish Falcons Nest 725 for a number of years and my mother was Lady Vice President and Financial Secretary. They ran the Jr. Bowling leagues.

I also grew up with the Falcons and was in their gym classes, bowling and Polish dancing. I love it!

Now I am very involved with the falcons. I am currently the Treasurer for our Nest 725 and Assistant Instructress for our gym class.

suebio02Now my children are in the gym class and Polish dancing. It's their turn to experience what I had growing up. All the memories of the meets, traveling to different states, making new friends and memories to last a lifetime.

I am so grateful to be a part of this great organization and for the chance for my children to have the opportunities I had. I do it all for the children, they are our future Falcons.

Czolem,

Suzanne Rae Zareczny

Polish Name Days

Yesterday 2010-09-08 : Reginy Melchiora Today 2010-09-09 : Marii Adriany Tomorrow 2010-09-10 : Piotra Sergiusza ........In Poland, name days (Polish: imieniny) are widely celebrated, & most calendars contain the names celebrated each day. Celebrations in Poland traditionally involve a gathering of friends & family at the celebrant's home at the dinner table, followed by drinking and socializing, similarly to birthday celebrations. The song "Sto lat" is sometimes sung. Children, and often adults too, receive presents, just like on their birthday.
