What Is The Polish Falcons Of America?

Since its inception, the Polish Falcons of America has been growing and changing to meet the needs of our members. You are cordially invited to discover how your membership in the Falcons can make a difference in your life and in the lives of your loved ones.

Our Fraternal Structure

We are a nonprofit fraternal benefit society owned by our insured members. Our members belong to local Nests (lodges) within our eight Districts and have a voice in our operations and direction. Members can participate at the nest, district and national level in a host of exciting social, civic, athletic, and benevolent activities.

Falcon Pride

We take a leadership role in promoting cultural awareness within our membership and our communities. As our ethnic traditions are passed on from generation to generation, we proudly preserve our rich heritage while documenting and publishing the many achievements and activities of the Polish-American community and Poland.
The Falcon organization is affiliated with and/or supports the Polish American Congress, Polish Museum of America, Polish American Immigration and Relief Committee Inc., the Polish Army Veterans Association, State and National Fraternal Congresses, Fraternal Societies of Greater Pittsburgh, Orchard Lake Schools, Polish American media and the Kosciuszko Foundation.
The Falcon record speaks for itself: its financial condition is solid, and its many programs and activities aim to improve the physical, mental and social condition of its members, young and old alike.

What is a Nest?

As a Fraternal Benefit Society, a key component of the Polish Falcons of America is its lodge system, which is referred to as Nests.

PFA Nests are divided into eight Districts. The Nest is the key social group bringing together members of the Falcons at various affairs. Throughout the history of the Polish Falcons, the Nest has been at the very center of Falcon activities at the local level.

Today, Nests hold regular meetings and offer a wide range of social, cultural and sports activities for the members. Many Nests own their own buildings and offer these programs in their own facilities. Other Nests, even though they do not have a building, still maintain numerous activities for their members.

Establishing a New Nest

The Polish Falcons of America does not have a Nest in every city in the United States, and it may be difficult for some individuals to take advantage of the many programs offered in the Nests. But establishing a new Falcon Nest is not that difficult. All it takes is 25 Falcon members to request a charter from National Headquarters.

A new Nest is immediately entitled to representation at District and National Conventions and all other benefits of a Falcon Nest. If you are interested in establishing a new Falcon Nest in your area please send us an e-mail and we will send you all the information necessary to get started.

Polish Name Days

Yesterday 2010-03-08 : Tomasza Felicyty Today 2010-03-09 : Beaty Wincentego Tomorrow 2010-03-10 : Franciszki Dominiki ........In Poland, name days (Polish: imieniny) are widely celebrated, & most calendars contain the names celebrated each day. Celebrations in Poland traditionally involve a gathering of friends & family at the celebrant's home at the dinner table, followed by drinking and socializing, similarly to birthday celebrations. The song "Sto lat" is sometimes sung. Children, and often adults too, receive presents, just like on their birthday.
